We work to find tomorrow’s solutions

Biototal works today in a number of development projects focusing on the environment and life cycles. Our goal is to be climate-positive and give back more to nature than we take.

New products and target groups

We are passionate about re-using by-products and creating functional life cycles. We work to develop new products, look at new business areas and develop our existing products concerning biogas, for example.
Research projects which we are conducting look at the processing of by-products from, for example, the forest industry, fish farms and the paper industry. These can then be transferred back in various forms of fertiliser to golf courses, sports facilities, meadows and forestry.

Biogas Research Center

Biogas Research Centre, BRC, is a national multidisciplinary competence centre with a triple helix model. The academy, industry, municipalities and regions discuss and co-produce knowledge about biogas solutions. The centre is supported by the Swedish Energy Agency, Linköping University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Biototal, together with 22 other partners from the private and public sector.

Root remains that remain after biogas production have a great value for agriculture as an organic fertiliser. The cooperation of Biototal with biogas facilities contributes to a more sustainable and less import-dependent agriculture. As we offer organic nutrients to agricultural areas, the need for imported mineral fertilisers is reduced.

We are both proud and happy to be part of BRC and the development of new solutions and evaluations from a broad system perspective. The centre's long-term vision aims to apply resource-efficient biogas solutions to new applications. It contributes to a more sustainable energy supply, improved environmental status and good business. Through its activities, the centre will facilitate development, innovation and business.

The role of Biototal in BRC is an important player in the biogas chain. We believe that joint forces are needed to increase knowledge in the field and to drive research and development in a direction that helps to develop biogas and bio-fertiliser and their synergies to full potential.

Research cooperation

Research is an important part of the ongoing environmental work which Biototal is driving forward. We have ongoing discussions with the universities in Sweden to help start and conduct new research projects in the best way possible. Several new projects are planned for 2021. WE are always open to looking at new research collaborations in the coming years
