Water environment

Good upstream work is the basis for good sludge and water quality and a prerequisite for achieving Parliament's environmental goals of a non-toxic environment and for meeting the requirements of the EU Water Directive.
We work to ensure that the nutrients that leave agriculture and accumulate in the city are returned to arable land, without risk to health and the environment. Good sludge is of the greatest interest to Biototal and it therefore seems natural that we should be involved in upstream work.

Therefore, structured upstream work is needed

Active upstream work is needed to meet future legal requirements, for clean life cycles of nutrients, earth and water. By actively working to reduce water pollution, you are one step closer to a Revaq certification.

Studies in the water environment

With good planning, proper education and correct analysis of measuring data, we can give you an overview of the water quality. We provide services within environmental control and investigate suspected contamination in all types of water: recipient, sewage, leachate, industrial, surface, ground, drinking and bathing water. We can help you with planning, sampling, evaluation and suggestions for measures. Of course, we meet the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s certification requirements for samplers.

Our upstream programme

If you are starting up an active upstream programme, we have an upstream programme that suits you. We offer priority pollutant identification, mapping, an action plan with objectives and activities and a summary/report.
The scope is determined on the basis of the treatment plant's conditions and resources. We conduct annual planning and then a regular review and follow-up.

Introduction

It is important to conduct upstream work in a structured and systematic way, but it is difficult to know where to start. Or where to stop.
We are present throughout your journey, to the extent you want and need.
